2024-2025 Dance Season

There are many fun opportunities available for our company members. Including…

• Competing in 3 regional dance competitions

• Participating in World Dance Championships held in July (if dances qualify at Regionals)

• Participation in dance conventions

  • Dance conventions are a group of workshop classes taught by multiple instructors from around the globe over a few days. Scholarships and performance opportunities are offered and won through these events.

• The opportunity to compete in a solo, duet, or trio number

• Company only classes are offered during our summer and fall sessions

• Become a teacher’s assistant

• Participation in our teaching apprentice program (learn and train to become a dance teacher)

Dance Company Descriptions

We have 8 dance companies for the 2024/2025 dance season that are broken down based on grade level, skill, and style.

Mini mover Company

Style: Jazz

Grade Levels: 3-5

Dances: 1 Jazz Routine

In Season Requirements: One weekly ballet class + Mini Mover Class

Summer Requirements: One weekly ballet class + Beginner Jumps, Leaps, and Turns

Junior prep Company lyrical

Style: Lyrical

Open To: Junior Prep Company Members

Dances: 1 Lyrical Routine

In Season Requirements: Junior Prep Co. Lyrical class

Summer Requirements: Summer lyrical class is highly encouraged, but not required

Audition Information

Date & Time

clinics

Clinics will take place on Monday & Tuesday, June 10 & 11, 2024

• Dancers will learn essential audition skills and choreography

• Attendance is required both days

• There is a $25 clinic/audition fee per dancer

  • Mini-Movers & Junior Prep Jazz, 5:00-6:00 pm

    • Minis & Junior Prep companies will audition with the same material and team placement will be based on audition scores and instructor input (effort and attitude in class from the previous year). 

  • Junior Prep Company Lyrical 6:00-7:00 pm

  • Junior & Junior Elite Jazz  7:00-8:00 pm

    • Junior & Junior Elite companies will audition with the same material and team placement will be based on audition scores and instructor input (effort and attitude in class from the previous year). 

  • Junior & Junior Elite Company Jazz  7:00-8:00 pm

  • Junior & Junior Elite Lyrical 8:00-9:00 pm

  • Senior Company Lyrical  7:00-8:00 pm

workshops

Workshops will take place in August, 2024

• Attendance is required

• There is an $85 workshop fee per dancer ($65 for Mini Movers)

requirements

All company members and their parents are required to sign the Company Participation Contract upon acceptance to their place on the team.

All company members are required to have a Turning Pointe jacket ($70.20) and leotard ($40.00) along with their own pair of plain black leggings, black oxford jazz shoes and tan oxford jazz shoes for each performance event or competition.

• Company Dances: $55-$85 per dancer/routine

• Trio Dances: $65-$85 per dancer/routine

• Duet Dances: $65-$90 per dancer/routine

• Solo Dances: $125-$190 per dancer/routine

Solos, Duets, & Trios

general information

• Second year+ company dancers can elect to compete with a solo, duet, and/or trio of their choice.

• Dancers get to pick their own music (teachers will cut & edit as needed).

• Dancers get to choose their own costumes. They can purchase a new one on their own, re-use an old costume, or borrow from the studio.

• Dancers can choose/request what teachers they want to work with & have them choreograph their routine (no guarantee for first choice of instructor).

• Dances must be completed by September 1st and regular, once monthly minimum rehearsals must be scheduled with instructor for remainder of dance season.

• These dances will ONLY be performed at competition, and will NOT be performed in the end of year showcase.

pricing

• Choreography Fee of $150 per solo/duet/trio

• 30 minute rehearsals are $45.00 each.

• 45 minute rehearsals are $55.00 each

• 60 minute rehearsals are $70.00/each

• DUETS/TRIOS: (the fees are split between either 2 or 3 dancers).

• Competition fees run $125-$190 per dance for each competition attended.

• Dancers can compete at any competition their Company dances are attending.

requirements

• Regularly scheduled rehearsals are required until the dancer(s) have retained their entire dance (choreography). At least one 30-minute rehearsal per month.

• After the dancer(s) have a confident grasp of their choreography, a minimum of one rehearsal per month is required for the remainder of the season.

• Additional rehearsals may be necessary if the instructor feels the dancer(s) is/are not ready to compete.

Solos, Duets & Trios require a lot of self-practice outside of the studio. If a dancer (or group) is not fully committed, the instructor has the final say, as to whether or not the dancer(s) is/are ready for competition.
